DR DAYS Exclusive: Death of a Horton in 2010!; Big story for Suzanne Rogers?!

More than a month ago, Suzanne Rogers and Molly Burnett gave an interview with Michael Fairman at the "Day of Days" event in which they teased that the character of Maggie has an "amazing, huge and shocking" storyline coming up in the new year that would knock the viewers socks off. Immediately, fans began theorizing that Maggie might fall off the wagon again or perhaps the writers were planning to kill off her husband, Mickey Horton. Now, with just a few weeks left 'til the new year, it's looking like our suspicions may have been right after all...

I just received word that the show is in fact planning to kill off the character of Mickey Horton in January and his death will serve as the catalyst for an emotional (and potentially dramatic) story for Maggie. I'm also being told that Maggie may fall off the wagon and might be involved in some sort of dramatic accident in the new year. More details will likely be released in the coming weeks.

As of now, this is not 100% confirmed, but I figured I would pass it along as this story twist is looking very, very likely. Could this be the storyline that finally wins Suzanne Rogers another Emmy? Either way, it looks like the new year won't be a happy one for Maggie Horton. Stay tuned! :)

*****UPDATE****

Dawn (Soaptown USA) has confirmed that Mickey dies and Maggie is the one who finds his lifeless body.

PhoenixRising05 says that he's heard Maggie's may be involved in a tragic accident that involves one of Sami's children!

I predict that Suzanne Rogers will take Days to #2 all by itself.

I can confirm it Kenny. This is the huge story that I wasn't allowed to reveal. The scenes were taped the week following the Day of Days events.

Mickey will die of natural causes and Maggie will find him dead according to what I was told.

While I'm sorry to see the character of Mickey die, I think it's time. Days has danced around his absence long enough and the excuses as to why he is not in scenes have become flimsy.

I'm sure Suzanne will kick ass in this storyline. It will be great to see her with some dramatic material and we all know she will deliver. I can't wait for this story to unfold.

Like OBK, I can confirm it as well although I have no more details then what is basically being said here. I have heard there may be an accident involving Maggie and one or more of Sami's children at some point but that is not confirmed so take that with a grain of salt.

Glad it's out in the open though because it was a pain in the ass keeping quiet with all the rumors about Maggie's story LOL. I just wanted to know more but nothing has leaked yet.

Thanks for the confirmation!

I'm always hesitant to believe things until I see them with my own eyes, hence the disclaimer, LoL. I can't wait to see Suzanne Rogers act this out! She's going to be amazing. I'm so excited.

I agree. The recasts just weren't Mickey and not showing him isn't right either.

This should be good!

OMG - that is going to be so incredibly sad. And no doubt Suzanne will be fantastic. As maudlin as it makes me sound...I can't wait!

Thanks for sharing Kenny & OBK. :)

I was just going to ask that question. Days better bring back some Hortons for this funeral. Melissa and Sarah should be a must. Marie, Mike and Jennifer should be there too.

This should be good. And with the recent apparences of John Clarke in the picture in Maggie's kitchen, I'm hoping that means we'll get classic Mickey and Maggie flashbacks, something that wouldn't be able to happen if someone else were still playing Mickey.

I agree that Melissa and Sarah need to be present for the funeral. Mike too.

Last I heard, they were trying to get Lisa Trusel but, other then that, I've heard nothing else on the return front.

I think this is the perfect time to recast Sarah and make her a permanent character on the canvas. Melissa, Jennifer, Laura, Marie, and Mike AT LEAST should be there.

I just worry about this because the Horton's have been neglected for so long that Mickey will never get the sendoff he deserved. There is also the issue with Frances Reid and dealing with her absence.
